My Story

I have resided in Trinity for over four decades and have been happily married to my husband, David, for more than 44 years. Together, we have raised three children, all of whom are now married, and we cherish our five grandchildren. As a Conservative Christian, I uphold the principle of fiscal responsibility with the citizens' finances. My academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and my professional experience spans the corporate sector. For 40 years, my husband and I have been proprietors of our own business. This extensive experience in business administration and ownership, combined with my active participation on the Planning and Zoning Board for over two years, has enriched my expertise. I have diligently collaborated with the Steering Committee, Planning and Zoning Board, consultants, and city planners, always prioritizing the citizens' desires and necessities, to develop Trinity's new Comprehensive Land Use Plan. I am committed to conducting exhaustive research on council agenda items to render informed decisions that serve the best interests of the citizens and our city.

My Position on the Issues

Service to the Citizens:
  • I want Trinity to be an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.

  • I intend to perform in-depth research on council agenda items to make well-informed decisions that align with the best interests of the citizens and our city.

    • My commitment is to look out for your welfare.

Public Safety:
  • I am dedicated to backing our Law Enforcement Officers in every way possible, which includes drafting ordinances that provide them with the necessary tools to enhance the safety and enjoyment of our neighborhoods.

Finances:
  • I will be financially responsible with the citizens funds

  • I am committed to keeping our taxes low by taking into account the future maintenance costs of planned city projects.

Education:
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Robert Morris University.

Urban Development and Housing:
  • I collaborated with the Steering Committee, Planning and Zoning Board, consultants, and city planners to assist in the development of Trinity's new Comprehensive Land Use Plan.

  • In my role as Vice-Chair of the Planning and Zoning Board, I have diligently ensured that the new ordinances align with our plan, directing developers and builders for future residential and commercial projects. These ordinances include prohibiting clear-cutting of land, establishing buffer zones from main roads to developments, mandating more natural vegetation within developments, and, where feasible, increasing lot sizes.

  • I aim to attract more small and medium-sized businesses, and possibly a few larger ones, without the trade-off of adding multi-dwelling housing and creating traffic issues.

Transportation & Infrastructure
  • I am committed to assuming control of private roads and delivering services to those who require assistance.

  • I intend to urge the Mayor and City Manager to collaborate with the North Carolina Department of Transportation to make necessary adjustments and improve our traffic flow.

  • I will explore methods to eliminate sewer costs for those who are not connected to the system.
